Professional Training for Body Therapists

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute offers this adjunct course designed for bodyworkers, movement therapists, yoga teachers, and other somatic therapists who are interested in the SPI approach to body psychology. With its emphasis on developing physical resources to address the effects of developmental and traumatic issues, this course teaches maps and skills for understanding these issues and their impact upon the body and the relationship between therapist and client. Interventions are taught both didactically and experientially and are designed to be integrated with existing body therapy skills. The length of this training is 108 hours, approved for Continuing Education Credits by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Times: Fridays 4:00pm—7:00pm, Saturdays 9:00am—6:00pm and Sundays 9:00am to 5:00pm

Tuition: 2,000 USD. A non-refundable registration fee of $25. A deposit of $500 is due to hold your place in the training.  5% discount if deposit is received with the application. 5% discount if paid in full by 10/16/2008. Refund Policy
Prerequisites:

Students are expected to have prior bodywork training, as this course is an adjunct training and not a substitute for bodywork training. The interventions taught are meant to be readily integrated with existing bodywork skills.
